This is truly a piece of artwork from Allred Custom Knives. It won of “Best Folder” at the 2008 Chicago Custom Knife Show and you can see why. The elegant curves of the design combined with the highest quality materials make this folding knife a visual masterpiece. Utilising Hakkapelitta Damasteel and Blacklip Mother of Pearl, this custom knife is sheer elegance.

Because I don’t think you can appreciate the fine detail in the wallpaper thumbnail above, I’m including a closeup here to encourage you to click through to the hi-res desktop images. It’s worth it!

Elvan Allred from allred knives posted this amazing picture of a japanese folding knife on KF and as soon as I saw it I just knew I had to feature it, it’s a striking knife and excellently photograhed – many thanks to Elvan for allowing me to use it
Elvan tells us that this unusual folder was started by Akihisa Kawasaki (url?) and finished by Fred Carter after Kawasaki’s death, making it a unique collaboration.
UPDATE: Fred has provided some more details in the comments – thanks!

Another T.A. Davison custom folder desktop image for your viewing pleasure, this time with an acorn motif and excellent jigged bone scales. Todd started selling knives in 1981 and has now made over 400 folders; each one unique, each one oozing quality
Kudos to the photographer too, they look great!

I’ve been a fan of Todd Davison’s slip joint folders for quite some time now, having first seen them pop up quite often for sale at bladeforums (look for posts by bigal2me). This one is a real beauty, I don’t think anyone could look at this and not recognise the quality and skill that’s gone into it. You can see many more photos of Todd’s work and currently available items at his custom knives site. This one features a clip point blade with Mammoth Ivory scales.
