Nice close-up shot of the soldier model, by tkdlaxer of SOSAK, who tells us that “I chose the book Europe and the Making of Modernity, for the soldier, because it seems to me that its been there to see most of it”. A very astute observation. The soldier model is indeed a powerful symbol as well as a great SAK, and this desktop image shows it off in all its glory!

A very artsy shot of an alox classic and the victorinox logo, taken by my own fair hand If you’re interested, I use paint.NET and all I did with this one was to make everything but the red shields sepia toned. I think it gives a very classy effect.

Ah, the victorinox old-cross red alox pioneer, how I wish I had one of these! (UPDATE: I do now! yay!) There’s something really appealing about the simplicity and symmetry of the cross against the red metal scales of this knife that just screams “own me!” at me.
